Roadmap

This will be the first official version of the IMPULS toolset. Main focus is on stable definitions for interfaces and data model.
- new database structure, especially with respect to the extended features of Jabber
- Central daemon (IMPULSd) implements HTTP communication and base functions for storing and retrieving messages
- working HTTP communication with libwww-perl, Qt and Java
- port of current parser plugins to standalone programs delivering their data to the daemon
- base implementation of a Reader

Work is not yet in progress on this version. But the features listed here will not be part of version 0.2
- multi user database environment and authentification
- stand-alone server for IMPULSd running with Linux
- distribution specific installation packages for Debian, Eisfair etc.
- secure connections (SSL, TLS)
- make HTTP connections proxy-proof

Ideas for future releases
- new mICQ/climm parser in other programming language than Java (Perl, Python, ... ?) to make integration into eisfair easier
- parser or plugins for other ICQ clients (Miranda, "original" Mirablilis ICQ, Pidgin, ...)
- Qt interface reader with integration into the KDE PIM suite Kontact
- Perl library for client and reader
- Integrate IRC clients
- Integration via apache-mod
- prepare Windows port using Apache Portable Runtime (needs better mysql support, esp. with Debian)
- Windows executable IMPULSd
